To actively strive to provide a quality parks and recreation system that offers a diverse range of experiences, preserves local resources, and supports a vibrant community spirit.
Coeur d’Alene’s Park system includes seven (7) community parks, eleven (11) neighborhood parks, six (6) sports complexes, four (4) city-owned docks, six (6) beach areas, not associated with parks, and four (4) natural parks. The department also owns and maintains two (2) public cemeteries and twenty-two (22) miles of shared-use paths. In addition to these facilities, the Parks and Recreation Department maintains twenty-six (26) non-park areas, which include landscaped beautification areas and maintenance of all municipal buildings (275,359 sq. ft.).
